“Why I Love Daddy”
A couple months back my toddler and I decided to have a “We Love Daddy!” night. My husband had been working very long hard hours and we wanted to bless him with a nice night. We cleaned up the backyard that always seems to look like a junk yard. And I’m not sure if this is a SoCal thing but our patio furniture is always caked in a disgusting thick layer of nastiness. I have to wait until a couple hours before we plan on using the patio furniture to hose it down and clean it with 409. It’s unfortunate because it is the cutest pink furniture ever. The hubs got it from one of his jobs. He works crazy hours but we get some cool stuff sometimes.
Side note…I have desperately searched for the Dior ad my beautiful pink furniture was in but I can’t find it. Boohoo. **Update! Update! Update!** My super rad husband found the Dior Addict ad with my pink furniture. Woohoo!
Moving on…we then hooked up our white Christmas lights to make it all pretty pretty. We cooked steak and colossal king crab legs. So delicious. But the best part of our surprise is I interviewed my toddler who was 2 at the time “Why do you love daddy?” Now I had to fight the urge to prompt him with cute little questions like “Do you love daddy because he plays with you every night?” I just asked him simply “RoRo why do you love daddy?” and let him say what came to his mind. Here’s what he said:
I love daddy’s car
I love daddy
daddy-daddy-daddy
I love so much my daddy
I love daddy
I love daddy love too
Daddy is so cute shake your booty
Daddy is so handsome
R for daddy and RoRo and daddy
I wrote it all out for him and let him draw pictures for daddy. As you can image the night was a success.
It’s easy to assume that the most important people in our life know how much we appreciate them. But every once in a while we need to take a moment to remind them and shower them with love.
Until next time…
Huggles & A Trio Of Kisses,
Jaime
