Sunday Funday
I love Sundays. I love getting up and going to church as a family. Well minus the whole I have to get up early and beautify myself and get the rest of the family up and out the door at an early hour. I still am working on ways to simply the Sunday morning hustle. Their is nothing better then growing closer to God right along with the people in your life who mean the most to you. We go to this incredible church called Church On The Way. Our youngest Roland who is 3 loves his class. He will ask all week long “can I go to church?” which makes my heart sing. You can also hear him singing “God loves me” over and over as he’s playing by himself with his toys.
We came home from church this Sunday and I made some killer hamburgers. We had our friends over from next door. Can I just say that what a blessing it is to have neighbors that are awesome? Back to the burger…I mixed chopped up bacon bits and jalapeños in with my organic beef along with Santa Maria Seasoning (which is what we use on our burgers and steaks). Grilled those little bad boys up…I have to admit a little too long…they were well done and we usually eat our hamburgers medium. Although, I could see out of the corner of my eye, my husband was chewing on his burger like it was a piece of jerkey. But even with being well done they were still insane in the flavor department. Cause I thought they were. Topped it off with provolone cheese, tomatoes, avocados, butter lettuce and a fried egg. Served it along side with some baked beans and Lays potato chips. Holy moly BOMB.com
Then, as if we weren’t all insanely full, we decided to pile in the car and head to a local spot EMC to get some oysters. RoRo even got to run and splash around while we waited for our food to arrive.
Wow. The seafood here is INSANE. We started off with the Fat Bastard oysters from Seattle, WA and the Minter Sweet oysters also from WA. They were so incredible. Take a look at these oysters…
Tip…my husband serves up our oysters with a dash of beer, tabasco, squeeze of lemon, little horseradish and why not cocktail sauce and whatever that clear yummy sauce is.
We then feasted on Uni fresh from Santa Barbara. Uni is definitely an acquired taste. My hubs has always loved Uni and I for the longest time have strongly disliked it. It has grown on me over the years though. And I have to say this is probably the best Uni I have ever had…
We even let RoRo try Uni for the first time and he loved it! It was so cute he kept saying “I want more!” Moms why not give your child an opportunity to try something new. Uni isn’t a quote-unquote a “toddler food” but my toddler loves it. And to top it off it is nutritional.
My goodness we then moved on to their Crispy Pepper Calamari and their Fried Clam Strips. Both good. I’ve had better calamari but the the the clam strips were really good. I sampled our friend’s Shrimp Garlic Noodles and Seafood Fried Rice which were both, again, very good. Now our friends’ son order their Lobster. Oh my goodness it was so insane. We ended our EMC feast with two rounds of Oyster Shooters. Surprise, surprise…it was so good.
Now if you’re not too careful you could very possibly break your bank. Which is why this was definitely a special treat and worthier the splurge. Nom nom nom.
Then the 7 of us all walked around and did a little shopping and ended our very beautiful night with frozen yogurt. Now this is not your typical run of the mill frozen yogurt. This is creamy greek frozen yogurt from Go Greek.
Ended my lovely Sunday snuggling on the couch with my main squeeze watching a movie. Perfect bliss.
Until next time…
Huggles & A Trio Of Kisses,
